In August we connected Dealer Insights to Claude with our MCP server; one of the industry's first. Last week I wrote that an AI is only as good as the data under it, and gave you six questions to ask any AI that's reading your dealership's numbers.
Since then, the thing I've heard most from dealers is some version of this: "I don't want to connect anything. I just want to ask."
So we built it into the app. It's called Insights IQ, and it's live.
Nothing to connect. Just ask.
Log into Dealer Insights, open Insights IQ, and type a question the way you'd ask your best analyst. That's the whole setup.
Behind that one box is everything we've spent twelve years joining and cleaning: Google Ads, Meta, your website, Search Console, your inventory, call tracking like Car Wars, your DMS sales, your CRM and local market pricing. You don't pick the sources or line up the dates. You ask, and it goes and gets what the question needs.
It also doesn't wait for you to think of a question. It opens with what it's already seeing at your store: open alerts, budget pace, a feed that stopped, cars priced above the market.
What comes back is a report, not a chat bubble
Here are four real questions and what came back. Store names are removed. Every number is real.
"Is our ad money going where our inventory is?" At one store, the best-selling truck was 31% of new inventory and got 9% of the search-ad budget (Aug 15 – Sep 28, 2026, new cars). The answer laid out every model's share of the lot next to its share of spend, with the dollars Dealer Insights' model plan would move.

"Are we losing buyers on the phone?" In August 2026, 1,738 sales calls came in at one store and 558 of them never reached someone who could help. That's nearly 1 in 3. The answer came with a heat map of exactly when calls went unanswered.

"Which vendors actually sell cars?" From Jul 1 to Sep 27, 2026, CarGurus drove 6% of one store's website lead conversions from its lead vendors, and 41% of the sales we could match back to them in the DMS. If you only count website lead conversions, you'd cut the wrong vendor.

"Is anything broken?" One store changed chat tools on Aug 31. Shoppers kept clicking the chat buttons, but chat conversations reaching analytics fell from 132 to 8, down 94%. It looked like a slow month. It was a broken tag.

Nobody built a pivot table for any of these.
It tells you what it doesn't know
This is the part I care about most. Most AI will confidently give you the wrong answer. Insights IQ is built on rules:
- Every answer names the store and the exact dates, and says whether the numbers are new, used or both.
- Bot traffic is filtered out before anything is counted.
- When data is missing, it says "not measured". It never turns missing into zero.
- It never invents budget advice. When money should move, the recommendation comes from Dealer Insights' own analysis, with the numbers attached.
- It's read-only. It can tell you a campaign stopped spending. It can't touch the campaign.
If you read last week's six questions, this is what they were for.
It keeps working when you're not logged in
- Schedule any question. Pick the days, and the answer lands in your inbox around 8 AM with fresh numbers.
- Check the report your vendor sent. Drop in a spreadsheet or PDF and ask whether it ties out to what Dealer Insights sees.
- Print it or share it. Ask for a Health Report for the managers' meeting and you get a branded page with a share link.
Already use Claude or ChatGPT?
Nothing changes. Dealer Insights still connects to both, and the answers are the same either way. Insights IQ is for everyone else: no accounts to link, no settings to find.
Try it
If you're a Dealer Insights customer, log in and open Insights IQ. Start with "Is anything broken?"
If you're not, see what it does, or request a free audit and we'll ask your store these questions live, on your own numbers.
